This is the 6 foot baby of our family! She is an awesome athlete-besides volleyball she was a star athlete in track (ran the 400m dash in the Junior Olympics and set the high jump record in middle school- her first year jumping!), played basketball (middle school won district) and was even a gymnast (has several medals and ribbons) before her legs got so long!! But after tearing her ACL the summer of her freshman year, we made her pick one sport and she chose the one that she "loves"--volleyball. We too have grown to love it and like her we are extremely competitive and very supportive. Without a tryout, she was chosen to play on TAV's (voted the best club in Texas) 3rd team-and was told she could and should be playing on either the first or second team. With her presence on the team, they consistently placed in the top five in tournament play and was ranked 7th out of 57 teams in USA Volleyball-North Tesas Region. Lone Star Volleyball ranked them in the top 25 in the state. She was described by her coach as a "stunning player" and one who "is a joy to watch." Also as a 16 year old she was chosen to play on the top 17's team at Texas Image Volleyball during the 2007 season. She has also been a varsity player since her freshman year and this her senior season should be her best yet. Thom and Sherri Pratt
Coaches see and inquire about her knee brace. After the ACL brace came off (after her sophmore season), she has been wearing this playmaker's brace at the suggestion of her doctor ever since. It is purely preventive, she wears it for the same reason players wear ankle guards...prevention. The doctor she sees in case of injury is the team doctor for a couple of our local professional sports teams so she is in good hands and ready for college volleyball.
